“The value of a cuisine is not only embedded in its mere taste. A cuisine tells a story about the people, the culture, and their stories. Through the new media – virtual reality, we will travel in space, and bring you to Hongkongese Dai Pai Dong, Singaporean Hawker Center, Malaysian street food, and Vancouver BBQ House. Going beyond the limits of taste, the viewer will be able to experience food within the environmental or cultural setting. Through this virtual reality experience, we hope to give people a gain greater understanding of the significance of cuisines in Chinese diaspora and how such connections links places together beyond geographic constraints.”
