Mr. Cho completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in History at UBC. His master’s thesis, “The Hong Kong Wuxia Movie: Identity and Politics, 1966–1976,” examines the production and critical reception of martial arts (wuxia) movies in Hong Kong during the 1960s and 1970s. From 2003 to 2008, Mr. Cho was Editor-in-Chief of Perspectives Newspaper, the first Chinese-English bilingual student newspaper in Canada. He is currently working on a book project titled Collecting the Hong Kong Identity: Conversations with Arts and Cultural Administrators Practicing in Hong Kong. Mr. Cho is a member of the Vancouver Hong Kong Forum Society and is an avid fan of Hong Kong cinema. He is also compiler of the UBC Library’s Research Guide for Hong Kong Studies.
