[Screening] Student projects for HIST 482 (The Heritage of Chinese Migration)

Join us for a community film screening for HIST 482: The Heritage of Chinese Migration, a class taught by Dr. Henry Yu, a HKSI Associate.

Program

This year, 8 students from UBC and 10 students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong  travelled around Kaiping, Hong Kong, and Vancouver to study Chinese migration histories and heritage conservation.

The student films, created out of these travels, will explore themes of language loss, the migration of “yum cha” (Cantonese dim sum and tea time), and Cantonese women. Light refreshments will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you there!
