A Story about Tracing Roots and Finding Home.
Performed in English, with Chinese Subtitles
“From Old Bean Grows Bok Choy” is a solo performance created by Phoebe Chan‘s Applied Theatre Lab.
Phoebe Chan presents a heartfelt and intimate story that takes you on a journey of migration and self-discovery. Set between Hong Kong and the UK, the performance draws from her personal story and invites reflection on the meaning of home and belonging.
The event lasts approximately two hours: a one-hour performance, a 15-minute intermission, and a 45-minute post-performance discussion. There are three performances in two venues.
All are welcome. No registration required. Voluntary donations which will go to Wovenland are welcome on-site or online.
The event is organized by Wovenland and supported by the UBC Hong Kong Studies Initiative and 852kitchen.
